‘A picture says more than a thousand words.’ Photographs can express feelings, moods and attitudes. Just as strongly as the written word. Photography is a delightful tool for Journalist to discover stories. Here modern cameras are both brilliant and inspiring tools.

MY WORLD children’s Photography exhibition was full of enthusiasm for the students, which led to lots of other things students deal with such as photography ,organizing exhibition ,group work and personality development.

This project was organised by Media Resources and Training centre (MRTC), Mr.Joel (photographer & cultural producer) and SDC.

MRTC was established in 2002 by University of Jaffna. The aims of this organisation are to produce professional journalists in the field of Tamil media, to play a major role in the media training in Northern Sri Lanka, and to be able to influence the professional practice and working environment of the media in the Jaffna Peninsula.

The process of this project was very exciting. Students from Maruvanpulavu Sakalakalavalli school were trained on basic-photography by MRTC student.  After that, children were documented their living places using digital cameras. Then, they developed print copies of those photos and sketched some ideas on photos, using colour pens to express their willingness and compliance. Interestingly students express their excellent ideas on the photos.

This book is a good document as such innovative project. We are very proud to release this great successful project document.

In this juncture, I would like to thank those who are very supportive to this project make very successful.
